2023 Michigan NENA Conference Call for Papers

Calling All Presenters!

The Michigan APCO/NENA Conference Committee is seeking breakout session proposals for presentations for the 2023 conference taking place

April 17-20, 2023 at the Radisson Plaza, 100 W. Michigan Ave, Kalamazoo, MI

This Call for Papers invites all APCO & NENA members, industry associates, business professionals and educators to submit a written proposal for a presentation, workshop or panel discussion.  Interested instructors are required to complete and submit the attached form and a photo of the presenter(s). 

Presenter Guidelines and Submission Requirements: 

Submissions should be of interest to public safety communications professionals on topics related to:  9-1-1 call taking, telecommunicator/dispatcher training, law enforcement dispatching, fire or EMS dispatching, stress management, leadership, technical development, operational development, radio systems, PSAP design, and emerging technology 

  • Submissions must be relevant and educational for 9-1-1 professionals
  • Submissions must not be company or product specific
  • Presentations must fill the entire time slot in order to meet state training requirements
  •  Presenters are responsible for all lodging expenses
  • The Radisson will offer a reduced room rate of $136 plus taxes and fees for conference presenters and attendees 

Audio Visual

There is dedicated WI-FI in the conference area for all presenters that can be used for streaming video and audio.  Please bring an electronic copy with all audio/video material embedded in your presentation as a backup.  A laptop, projector, speakers, and microphones will be provided.   

Presenter Selection

Presenters chosen will be notified by mid-March and will receive:

  • Registration for day of presentation.  If attending the full conference, you will receive reduced registration.
  • Breakfast, lunch, and scheduled activities on day of presentation
